Hey, guess what? I haven't been dome with High School for less than a week, and look what I find:

FOX CANCELS NEW AMSTERDAM!

YEAH. 24 CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH.

Why, FOX, WHY? It was a good show! It had comedy! It had crime! It had romanticism! Yes, there were some shaky parts (SARA DILLANE, I'M LOOKING AT YOU), but it could improve!

I WANTED MORE, DAMMIT. ESPECIALLY SINCE IT LEFT ME ON SUCH A BAD NOTE. But I guess that's just the FOX way: "If it's really good, we'll cancel it!"

So that t-shirt I made? TRULY, A WASTE.
mydarling: (office / here comes the sun)
I had to watch TV in the living room last night instead of the family room (the Red Wings came was on, Dad wanted to watch it), and unlike what happened the last time I watched a TV show I obsess over in the living room, last night turned out to be pretty good.

Everyone, I'm dating Barack Obama. )
mydarling: (office / call of duty)
GUYS. I LITERALLY SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THIS.

HALLO THAR CAST OF 24. YOU ALL LOOK SO FIERCE.

And now I've totally forgotten about there not being anymore episodes of New Amsterdam. MY SHOW IS BACK! I NEED ICONS, DAMMIT.
mydarling: (newamsterdam / subway)
Please pardon my anger-induced incoherency.

New Amsterdam, or why Maureen should never, ever get that obsessed over a show. )

Want to do this meme to make me feel better?

GIP & GLP ([livejournal.com profile] pretty_cynical. I miss Pushing Daisies!

Things have been relatively crazy with me the past few days: I found out that my last official day of high school is April 29th, finals start April 30th and go until May 5th, and then I take the AP Spanish Exam of DOOM on May 6th. Senioritis hit me really hard after that; I'm failing my two hardest classes (AP Spanish and Pre-Calc) and honestly, with two weeks left of high school, I don't care. The weather's getting warmer and I don't want to do any work.

In other school related news, I have a possible Prom date, courtesy of mommy. I really hope it works, because I need to have it confirmed by the end of the week, and Prom is next Friday. Also, I need shoes that are a) cheap, and b) do not look ridiculous with my dress.

-

I've been disappointed with post-strike TV. I got all hyped up for The Office, only to be let down considerably. Although the promos for the next few episodes have got me all excited. However, I do have a newfound love for 30 Rock, possibly in part because I've been to 30 Rock. Wednesday night TV has been pretty uneventful, but I'm sure once May sweeps rolls around, it'll get better. Numb3rs has made me laugh, however.

OH, AND MY AMERICAN IDOL BOYFRIEND GOT VOTED OFF AND I'VE COME THE CONCLUSION THAT IT'S CONSIDERABLY RIGGED.

-

New Amsterdam season finale tomorrow night! What am I going to do after it's over and there are 5 months until the 24 prequel?
mydarling: (a: jm / touch the sky)
OMGOMGOMG I SO KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING.

The void that 24 left me with has been filled by this show.

(Also, so NOT HAPPY that House is going to be on Monday nights. It's an essential part of my Tuesday TV! NOT MONDAY.)
mydarling: (criminalminds / poker face)
My favorite class this semester? Most definitely College Writing. The teacher is totally awesome, and we get off-topic so often. We've even talked about The Office and 30 Rock! And I end up laughing so hard that I forget that I'm supposed to freak out about the class, because it consists of constant writing.

my least favorite class this semester, is not AP Spanish (that's actually pretty fun; we're reading Don Quijote, getting vocab on travel and tourism, and talking in fractured Spanish), but Pre-Calc. I hate that we've jumped right back into it, and that I got in trouble for "cheating" on my homework because I copied the answers out of the back of the book instead of doing it the way the teacher wanted it. And I have an A in the class, but I'm sure that will change soon. I've got this huge quiz on Friday, which I'm pretty sure I won't so well on. Math and I are not friends.

Office Assistant has become sort of boring. I have it during lunch, so there's really nothing to do. Although I do get to collect attendance!

-

I'm listening to Katharine McPhee in order to prepare for the awesomeness of American Idol. I'm really hoping that it's better than last year. Now that 24 is gone, American Idol is the only hope I've got for FOX. (TURN IT OFF? I THINK NOT.)

-

The Michigan Primary is a joke.

-

I miss The Office and 24 so, so much.
mydarling: (tv writer love.)
My entire week so far has been spent worrying about the writer's strike. Yes, I know, it seems kind of trivial, but for someone who watches and obsesses over TV as much as I do and actually wants to be a writer for television when she's older, it's kind of important.

I actually love most of what I'm hearing; TONS of actors are supporting the strike (Jay Leno brings the writers doughnuts! Eva Longoria gets them pizza! None of the The Office actors have crossed the picket line!), and general newsmedia has been super supportive and terribly informative. (Also, if I didn't have such a wonderful, tv-obsessed flist, I wouldn't be so involved. Love you guys.)

On the other hand, I am quite worried. I've mostly been concerned about The Office, because of the flist, but there are other shows I'm worried about: 24, mostly. The fact that it's a mid-season show that does take any breaks between January and May is sort of a problem with the strike. They have about 8 episodes done, but depending on how long this strike lasts, that could be all the episodes they do, and FOX might not even air it at all. We'll see.

I really don't want reruns, but I while this is going on, I have to support. This is my future job, after all. And you all can visit unitedhollywood.com, which is an awesome blog about the strike. Very informative.

PLEASE. Support the shows you love, but support the people who make them even more.

Holy Jesus, it's November. Only two months until 24!

-

I went on a college visit today here. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and the tour guide was really sweet. The Parents and I had an excellent lunch on campus as well, and I really enjoyed it, along with my parents, despite the fact that it was kinda cold outside. Plus, it was an INSANELY long drive to get there and back, but Dad's iPod passed the time (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young = FTW).

I visit here tomorrow, and I'm kinda more excited about visiting there than the college that I visited today, just because it looks a bit more interesting in the booklet. We'll see how it goes.

-

LOVED seeing Karen on The Office last night; Rashida is truly excellent. James Morrison is going to be on Numb3rs tonight (yay!), and the CSI/Without a Trace crossover that's coming up next week? ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

-

Am taking Office Assistant at school next semester, even though I didn't even ask to take it. How weird is that? I'm taking Church History as well, and I really wanted Theology. And I've got TWO English classes. I'm going to hate next semester. With a passion.

-

Time to play TV catchup. Is it still okay to watch a Halloween episode even though it's already November?

omgomgomg.

mydarling: (mary jane's last dance.)
I just watched the 24 season 7 trailer (you can watch the full one here starting tomorrow, but I watched the shorter version via Facebook), and OMG. I really don't think it's possible for a season of this show to look so awesome in the promos yet end up sucking. (Although Season 6 ended up the exact same way. There were some good parts, I SWEAR.)

BUT. Mary Lynn's hair! AND TONY!!!! OMG.
mydarling: (team hotch.)
I think I kinda have to talk about this episode now. Because of all the drama this week.

Criminal Minds, 3X02, In Birth and Death. )
mydarling: (pb; i don't know how i got so tangled.)
GIP, because Prison Break is back! )

New layout to match the icon ([livejournal.com profile] pretty_cynical). It's very... green.

-

Watching the House S3 finale, and it's totally depressing and amusing at the same time. Wilson = ♥. Can't wait for next week!
mydarling: (ny ; i'm broken in two.)
This week is pretty much finale week (except for Prison Break, which starts on Monday), so next week, all the craziness begins.

FYI, this is just a list of the fall premieres. 24 and Lipstick Jungle don't premiere until January, so they'll get talked about towards the end of the year.

mydarling: (24 ; team playas.)
Colm Feore joins the cast of 24.

DUDE, IT'S COLM FEORE! I'm so excited. I've not only seen him on TV (he was in an episode of The West Wing), but I saw him in person at Stratford. (I've never actually met him, though.) This is so awesome.

And Janeane Garofolo is joining 24 as well, which begs the question: Will she bring her Converse?

I have to say that these little bits of news are actually making me excited about the upcoming season, despite what's being going on there lately. January is just way too far away.
mydarling: (24 ; team playas.)
JAMES MORRISON IS COMING BACK TO 24!!!

(This bit of exciting news does not take away from the fact that there's something going on at 24 that is making everything there go to pieces. JOEL SURNOW, YOU STILL NEED TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.)
mydarling: (h; smiley face)
I woke up around 8:50 AM and realized that I'd missed the Emmy noms. But I taped them, so everything was okay, at least until the actual nominations came out. All I have to say is this. ) Honestly, I could care less. I think it has something to do with the fact that they're on FOX this year and I don't know who's hosting them. Not that I really care.

-

My birthday went great, thanks for noticing. I went shopping in the morning; bought myself a new pair of really cool headphones and ordered a TWoP book that comes in sometime next week from Borders. Had a very excellent coffee drink there and read Jane magazine, which I bought and promptly fell in love with. Went to dinner at Red Robin with my parents and got my picture taken with Red (the mascot) but forgot to mention to the waiter that it was my birthday, so I didn't get an ice cream sundae or sung to. But that was okay, because I had an ice cream cake at home (Graham is the only one who's eaten it so far), and awesome presents to open. I got The Office S2, Criminal Minds, and The West Wing S5 from my parents, and a $50 dollar Old Navy gift card from my grandma. Will spend it sometime next week when I go back to Borders, because they're in the same area.

-

My book from Amazon arrived yesterday, but from UPS, not the mail. It's The Poisonwood Bible, which is my summer reading book this year. I'm only about 80 pages in, but it's very good. I have until the end of August to finish & review it, which is about 400 pages or so. Double Eeep.
mydarling: (t; team playas)
Dear Joel Surnow,

GET IT TOGETHER.

Sincerely,
Maureen.

PS: Why aren't you bringing James Morrison back? *whines*

mydarling: (piggyback rides!)
Disappearing for awhile, seeing as finals start Monday and don't end until Thursday, and I need to study for them. But before I depart, I have a few things to say.

-

Kimby's pregnant. (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] wistful_memory, for tipping me off on that.) I freaked out for a considerable amount of time after finding out, thinking a) she's not going to be on 24 next season, and b) if 24 is nominated for an Emmy this year, she won't show up. (Although, I don't know if she'd be invited, seeing as she was only in three episodes or so. We shall see.)

-

JUNIOR YEAR = OFFICIALLY OVER.

I had my last high school history class EVER on Tuesday. I told my mom this, and she told me that I'd have American Government next year, and that's a history class. (For the record, it isn't. There's some history in it, but doesn't focus totally on history like the classes I've had for the past three years.)

My last day of Spanish was spent playing Spanish Scrabble with the teacher and the one other girl in my class. It was a lot of fun.

Got sunburned from Field Day yesterday; my face and arms are all red, and there's a ridiculous tan line where my t-shirt and glasses were. IT BURNS SO BAD.

-

I'm worried about the next season of House seeing as everyone's gone. But at least Jesse and Jennifer are still together!

-

♥ Maroon 5's new album. It's just as good (if not better) than their first one, and I've been listening to it nonstop. Plus, Rashida's on it!

-

I'll see you guys on Thursday (hopefully). I'm off to study for Algebra. Wish me luck.

Six days late, I know. But if Television Without Pity can do it, why can't I?

24 season finale. )

mydarling: (not lauren conrad)
Numb3rs was.... interesting, I guess.

The Janus List. )
