Sep. 18th, 2008 11:29 amMy Government class was canceled for today (first canceled College class WHATWHAT), so I'm hanging out in the Computer Lab until Mommy can pick me up at 12:30. Not having class is totally a blessing because a) my Stats class felt really long because people kept asking stupid questions, and b) this is probably the only opportunity for me to use a computer today because the one at home is still crashed.
Speaking of the home computer, we're one step closer to getting it fixed. It's somewhat old in terms of computer lifespans; we've had it about four years (I named it Toby because we got it right around the time that Toby was fired from the White House on The West Wing.) Dad came to the conclusion that the hard drive is malfunctioning, so it'll have to be replaced. But in the meantime, we have to fix the computer enough so we can get all our files off of it and put on CD until the new hard drive comes in. Dad started running a rudimentary virus scan program that scans the entire hard drive and eliminates problematic files&such last night, and it finished this morning after he left for work. So we have to wait until he gets home tonight to find out what's next. I'm hoping that the damage isn't too severe and all of my files haven't been wiped. There's a lot of stuff on there that I can't get back.

I'll be running a few errands with Mommy after school, but once I get home I'll start watching my West Wing DVDs. The only downside to getting them from the library is that the don't come with the little booklet with episode synopsis, and I haven't seen this season since it aired 3 years ago, so I can't exactly remember which one's which. I know I want to watch "The Ticket", which is on the first disc, and then jump to some of the later episodes. I remember watching this season on NBC and kicking myself because there were a handful of episodes I really didn't need to watch and could have spent that time studying for Religion tests instead. This time around, I'm putting off Stats homework! It's a mix of book and computer work, so I'll have to do it this weekend when I'll have computer access. And I have a test on Tuesday to study for! So it all works out.

I've decided to follow in the steps of
tunaeverynight and stay spoiler free re: The Office for the rest of the season. I read a bunch of things over the summer that seemed both good and bad, but I don't want to get my hopes up for anything. The premiere is ONE WEEK AWAY, and I think I can hold out until then. I want to be surprised by this season.
