Last night's 24 was a little bit better than Sunday night's, only because two very important people showed up (without having their names in the opening credits), which was an exciting surprise. The plot, not so much. I'm hoping that it lives up to the promise that the writers took advantage of the 20 month break to plan out the entire season, and they think it's their best yet. Right now, it's in definite need of some help. I'll have to keep holding out.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first day of new classes. I think I'm now totally getting used to the whole "college classes" thing. Although I'm anxious to leave here, because I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER FROM GRAND VALLEY yesterday, which means this transfer is actually happening. I'M SO EXCITED!

Anyway. Classes.

Intro to Film: I really, really like the professor. She's young and reminds me a lot of my senior year Spanish teacher. She was five minutes late for class but apologized profusely because she lives in Canada and got stuck at the border that morning - NOT HER FAULT. She's very smart (she has master's degree and is working on her PhD), and really passionate about film. She definitely knows her stuff, which is awesome. The "theme" is semester is Horror, which I'm a little nervous about, because that's my absolute least favorite film genre. We're going to be watching Pulp Fiction and The Exorcist during the semester, which I've been forbidden from seeing by my parents (but now am able to watch because I'm now of age), so that freaks me out a bit. But I'm really excited about the course and so happy that I already know a few things from Film&Culture class in high school, so I have a feeling this is going to be a little bit easier for me.

Intro to Anthropology: The professor is an older woman, but she's very energetic and definitely knows her stuff. She already gave us the notes for the entire for the first unit via PowerPoint, but she said we still have to pay attention because there's a lot of material we need to know, most of it hands-on stuff. It'll definitely be an interesting class.

English 102: First off, I was shocked to find out that my professor is a man. I just assumed that it was a woman, only because all of my previous ones have been women. Also, he's huge and has a white ponytail, and has a sense of humor that I can only describe as off putting. I secretly think that he tries to make his students laugh to cover up the fact he can't really teach. I have a feeling I won't really learn anything or get anything out of it because of him. I'll just have to see how it goes.

I also had the best bowl of chicken noodle soup from the cafeteria, and made a new friend in English class yesterday. Things are already looking up for this semester.

I'm listening to the Clinton confirmation hearings on MSNBC. I have no idea why.

Thanks!

I'm glad you approve! The class sounded interesting, although it looks like it's going to be a lot of work.
