GUYS. I have the best idea for my [livejournal.com profile] picfor100 fic, and I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE PROMPT YET.

Also, Patriots are 15-0, I had the best Jimmy John's sandwich for lunch, and have recently acquired new music that is The Office related and from Maroon 5. It has been that good of a day!

And I have to rec Stop Me by Mark Ronson, because I'm addicted to it. I DON'T CARE IF IT WAS ON THE HILLS, IT IS STILL AWESOME.

(Wow, I kind of abused capslock here. Oops!)

Holy Jesus, it's November. Only two months until 24!

-

I went on a college visit today here. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and the tour guide was really sweet. The Parents and I had an excellent lunch on campus as well, and I really enjoyed it, along with my parents, despite the fact that it was kinda cold outside. Plus, it was an INSANELY long drive to get there and back, but Dad's iPod passed the time (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young = FTW).

I visit here tomorrow, and I'm kinda more excited about visiting there than the college that I visited today, just because it looks a bit more interesting in the booklet. We'll see how it goes.

-

LOVED seeing Karen on The Office last night; Rashida is truly excellent. James Morrison is going to be on Numb3rs tonight (yay!), and the CSI/Without a Trace crossover that's coming up next week? ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

-

Am taking Office Assistant at school next semester, even though I didn't even ask to take it. How weird is that? I'm taking Church History as well, and I really wanted Theology. And I've got TWO English classes. I'm going to hate next semester. With a passion.

-

Time to play TV catchup. Is it still okay to watch a Halloween episode even though it's already November?
mydarling: (60 ; let's go dancing!)
Ended up not going out to dinner last night, because Dad wasn't feeling well, nor did I go see Carousel, because it's apparently not showing today. We're going out to dinner tonight, sans Dad because he's stuck in the ER all night because he has an infection in his arm, poor Daddy. As for Carousel, I really don't know. I think Mommy, Monica are going when Dad & Graham are out of town at the end of the month. We'll see.

-

I downloaded KT Tunstall's new album, Drastic Fantastic, yesterday (a whole four days before it's in stores), and although only a few of the songs have come up on my iTunes shuffle, they're amazing. I highly recommend it.

-

Leaving for dinner in a few minutes, and I'm going to miss all of the Red Carpet and some of the actual Emmys, so they'll have to be taped before I leave. I've got all my predictions! I'm so excited; hopefully I can stay up for the whole thing.

-

OMG, HANNAH MONTANA IS PLAYING. How did that happen?
mydarling: (Default)
GIP & GLP ([livejournal.com profile] pretty_cynical), because this song is owning me at the moment, and Claire Forlani is my new obsession. So.
mydarling: (to ; tiny dancer.)
Spent the majority of today cleaning/re-organizing my room, although it's only half-clean at this point. But the part that is clean looks really, really good. I'm so proud.

-

Have lots and lots of new music to listen to. So excited.

-

Am also gearing up for fall TV. I have a few that I saw the finales of that were "to be continued", so I'm excited for those premieres. A lot of those shows I don't watch on a regular basis, so I'll probably only watch the premiere and the occasional episode.

I also made my decision on what new shows I want to watch. I only picked two: Pushing Daisies, because everyone's raving about and it looks really good, and Private Practice, because even though I've stopped watching Grey's Anatomy, Addison=♥.

Need to watch the last few eps of Criminal Minds (plus that first part to the finale) before the new season starts. I should also watch the few eps of Grey's Anatomy I missed; I know I stopped watching after sweeps, but I feel that I need to watch the season before it comes out on DVD. (Weird, I know.)

-

Tomorrow's agenda: Cleaning the rest of my room/bathroom, writing the rest of my [livejournal.com profile] numb3rswriteoff fic (due in THREE DAYS!), and watching some of The Simpsons in Spanish on DVD.
mydarling: (s; spin)
The Police are here in Detroit, but I can't go see them because a) the tickets are like, $200, and b) the concert venue is an hour and a half away from my house. Plus, they probably won't go on tour again for another 20 years or so. Boo to that.

-

I watched Serenity today for the first time in almost a year. I don't remember much of the movie, even though I watched it nearly everyday after I got it. The only parts I remember are spoilers. )Plus, I was totally able to get some parts that I didn't understand the first time around, like this moment. )

AND. SARAH PAULSON IS IN IT. I didn't know she was in the movie because I didn't know who she was the first time I watched it. But now I do, and I was all omgyay! about it. She has a really small part, and it's not actually her, just a video of her, but still. She's really pretty in it too, with dark hair and a ponytail. *squee*

I also watched the bloopers (twice - before and after), because they are hilarious.

-

I'm totally hating on the mail people for not bringing my mail that I need, like, right now. I'm waiting on a book from Amazon, which was supposed to come last week via UPS but is now apparently coming by mail this week, and birthday cards from my grandmas, because I'm going shopping tomorrow and I need money. No love, mail people, no love.

mydarling: (60 ; drunk and friendless.)
Today's Thursday. You know what that means:

Studio 60 ends tonight.

This is only the second series ending I've dealt with. The first one, you'll remember, was The West Wing last May. That kinda hit me hard; I had only got into it the previous summer and watched every episode (some more than once) in the span of 10 months or so. I watched S7 on NBC and felt that I had really made a connection with it. Then I found out they were canceling it. I was crushed. I thought it was some kind of joke; that the people who wanted the show to end after Aaron Sorkin left had gotten their way, but no, it had low ratings. And so it ended, much to my dismay.

With Studio 60, it's different. It lasted not even a complete season, and it's ending. I didn't get to know the characters they way I got to know them on The West Wing. I got to know little bits and pieces of the characters, but none of that was really developed, other than Matt&Harriet&Luke and Tom's brother, and it could've been developed over several seasons like The West Wing. And Studio 60 took a ridiculously long break that I totally forgot what went on before it went on hiatus.

So. Come 11 PM, I'll probably be bawling my eyes out (like I did last year with The West Wing), come to the realization that Aaron Sorkin probably won't make another TV comeback for another 4 years or so (see you in 2011, AARON), and praying profusely that it comes out on DVD ASAP, so that I can try to figure out the exact point where the show when to hell. (For the record, I think it's the episode "B-12". Agree/Disagree?)

As Maroon 5 said in their song "Goodnight Goodnight", "I hope things turn out all right." And for Studio 60, I'm sure they will. They have to.

mydarling: (m; miss independent)
I brought the CSI:NY S3 premiere ("People With Money", it's called) off iTunes, because a) I desperately want to see it and CBS won't be showing it anytime soon, and b) it's Peyton's first episode. It's in the process of downloading right now. I can't wait to watch it.

While I'm doing that, I'm also making a ton of CDs. I broke my little mp3 player a few weeks ago, and I don't have any other way to listen to music other than my CD player. I'm going to Omaha next week and want to take my music to listen to on the 12-hour drive. Unfortunately, I've got over 200 songs that I actually like to listen to, and that results in A LOT of CDs. Oh, how I wish I had an iPod. Or a working mp3 player that can hold my entire music library. I'd like the iPod more. ;)

mydarling: (piggyback rides!)
Disappearing for awhile, seeing as finals start Monday and don't end until Thursday, and I need to study for them. But before I depart, I have a few things to say.

-

Kimby's pregnant. (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] wistful_memory, for tipping me off on that.) I freaked out for a considerable amount of time after finding out, thinking a) she's not going to be on 24 next season, and b) if 24 is nominated for an Emmy this year, she won't show up. (Although, I don't know if she'd be invited, seeing as she was only in three episodes or so. We shall see.)

-

JUNIOR YEAR = OFFICIALLY OVER.

I had my last high school history class EVER on Tuesday. I told my mom this, and she told me that I'd have American Government next year, and that's a history class. (For the record, it isn't. There's some history in it, but doesn't focus totally on history like the classes I've had for the past three years.)

My last day of Spanish was spent playing Spanish Scrabble with the teacher and the one other girl in my class. It was a lot of fun.

Got sunburned from Field Day yesterday; my face and arms are all red, and there's a ridiculous tan line where my t-shirt and glasses were. IT BURNS SO BAD.

-

I'm worried about the next season of House seeing as everyone's gone. But at least Jesse and Jennifer are still together!

-

♥ Maroon 5's new album. It's just as good (if not better) than their first one, and I've been listening to it nonstop. Plus, Rashida's on it!

-

I'll see you guys on Thursday (hopefully). I'm off to study for Algebra. Wish me luck.

mydarling: (happy karen)
So now that I've got the computer back, I went on a crazy music downloading spree, which included this:

Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder.

We sang this for our choir concert this year, and I've just become OBSESSED with it. I've only had it for a little over two hours or so, and I've listened to it six or seven times.

IT'S THAT GOOD OF A SONG.

mydarling: (Default)
Have had a totally stressful week. So glad that it's Friday.

- Larry returns to Numb3rs tonight! FINALLY.
- Found out this morning via Wiki that Kiefer's appearance on The Simpsons is scheduled for May 20th, which is the series' 400th episode. (And yes, it is a 24 parody, so Mary Lynn will be there.) SO EXCITED.
- Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] _rockthenight, I'm in possession of the entire Continuum album, but can't listen to it because it's in .m4a format. Boo to that.
- I can't stop listening to Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band.
- I have no idea whether to jump out of my chair or be all suspicious at NBC, but Studio 60 returns May 24th (that's a Thursday) at 10pm.
- I've got CSI, The Office, and Kiefer's appearance on Jay Leno to watch when I get home.

mydarling: (who's the boss?)
I got the Maroon 5 CD from the library yesterday, and I'm obessed with it. Got even more excited when I found out that Rashida Jones (Karen from The Office) did the background vocals on some of the songs. Which is pretty cool. I ♥ her.

-

American Idol: My God, was Gwen Stefani harsh. Especially on the contestants that sang No Doubt songs. However, it was pretty good. Phil's version of "Every Breath You Take"? Sounded exactly like the original. I still can't get the image of Sanjaya's hair out of my head. Dad end up voting nearly 20 times for him, just to cancel out the 25 votes I gave (granted, they were for five different people, but he didn't seem to care). He went crazy when he found out Sanjaya was safe, which pissed me off. Although Gwen brought her girls along, which kinda made my night. Dad: "It's SO much better than Diana Ross!"

Still, I had to sit through this week's episode of House, which weirded me out, excited me, and made me feel like I was watching the S2 finale ALL AT THE SAME TIME. (Although I am excited that there's 8 episodes in a row, no repeats. Will give me something to look forward to on Tuesdays, especially since I've lost all hope in American Idol.)

-

HOW THE HELL does James Morrison not win as TV's sexiest boss? (Although Dennis Haysbert won, but he's on The Unit now. Does it still count as a win for 24 if he's not on the show anymore? I THINK SO.)
mydarling: (Default)
Lots to say.

01. [livejournal.com profile] wistful_memory, I received your card on Wednesday, which totally made my day. My siblings couldn't believe that I got a card from a person I only know through LJ.

02. Christmas went well, although I drove home from church (first time since getting my permit) with my family, and it didn't go so well. As for gifts, I received 24 S5, Numb3rs S2, Grey's S2, The Office S1, and a Virgin Mobile cell phone, which I promptly named Charlie. Ended up attempting to go out to dinner because Mommy had to work and didn't make anything for the rest of us. Drove around for almost 20 minutes before finding a Champps that was open.

03. Spent most of yesterday in Cleveland, where Dad took us to visit my granddad (his dad) and visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (or as Stephen Colbert calls it, "the place where rock & roll goes to die."). Good times, although I brought my digital camera all set to take pictures of the memorabilia and then I found out that no cameras are allowed. Hmph. Also, my dad became a museum member, and he want to know if he gets to nominate people, because he wants Phil Collins/Genesis to be inducted. And we listened to Don Henley there and The Eagles on the way home. Sang along with every song, because I'm such a dork :)

04. And finally: CBS, when you want to tell us that Saddam Hussein has been executed, could you at least wait until a commercial break, instead of interrupting Numb3rs? And when you do interrupt, could you use someone besides Katie Couric? Thank you muchly.

mydarling: (Default)
First off, a Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it. And if you don't, then a happy whatever holiday you celebrate.

Finally got around to Christmas shopping with Mommy, Graham and Monica yesterday. Hit up Target, Best Buy, and Kohl's, and everyone's presents are bought, wrapped and placed under the tree to be opened tomorrow after church. Today we're making Christmas cookies (and by "making" I mean "baking pre-cut cookies and eating them straight off the cookie sheet".) Tomorrow we're going to church, opening presents, and basically hanging out, watching football. My Aunt&Uncle&Cousins aren't coming over for dinner =(, but it'll be nice with just my family.

Dad is randomly quoting A Few Good Men. Again. He finished painting our family room last night and spent today putting all of our media players and stereo equipment back on the shelves. He hooked up his iPod to the speakers and we've been listening to it. Giggle fits always ensue when Dad starts playing A Few Good Men audio clips and speaking the lines right along with them. Also, the DVD player is finally hooked up! I'm hoping to watch In Excelsis Deo and Noel sometime today or tomorrow. Gotta love the Christmas WW!

I'm unsure when my next update will be (hopefully tomorrow *crosses fingers*), but if not, I hope everyone has a good holiday!

mydarling: (ww: pink hat)
Lots to say.

01) I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I did. Had good times with the little cousins and ate a ton of food. Watched the parade as well. The only bad part about my Thanksgiving was that our DVD player wasn't hooked up so I couldn't watch Shibboleth. Oh well.

02) My driving is going a lot better than I thought it would, although my instructor is a bit concerned about me. He says that I'm having a hard time understanding where I am in relationship to the road. (Basically, I'm not paying attention.) He also says that it may be a vision problem, and that I should get my eyes checked ASAP. That's probably a good idea, seeing as I haven't had my eyes checked since the summer before sophmore year. May do that sometime this week.

03) Grey's was not as good as it was hyped up to be, although being able to watch Grey's and CSI on the same night without commericals was most excellent. And watching it with Graham was mucho fun, seeing as we laughed the entire night, Even at the serious parts.

04) I made my christmas list, but I'll post it later.

05) The 24 Day 6 cast picture is here, and although Audrey is not in it, I am loving Chloe's hair. And Larry from Numb3rs is in it too! How exciting.

06) I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG. Srsly.
