I deleted that last post, the one where I was all moody and such. Things are getting better around here; the last few days (or week?) have been supersuper tense both at home with the family and at school. Not being in school and not being allowed to watch TV EVER AGAIN can really make you emotional, especially when everyone else is upset. But I'm actually doing my homework again (no more senioritis for me!) and am allowed 2 hours of TV a day, although lately I've been able to get away with more. Definitely feeling better, and yes, NCIS has actually helped quite a bit.

I can't believe that American Idol's Top 12 are being chosen tonight, and I haven't even talked about any of the competition yet! I'm relatively meh about it this time around; it has seemed to gone down in quality in the past few years.

My two favorites are Brooke and Michael (his Australian accent is ever so slight.) I'm totally not a fan of Amanda (or Creepy Nurse, as she's known around my house), because a) she's creepy, and b) every song she sings is a hard rock song. I get that she's a great singer, but I really can't understand why the judges are all "OMGYAYWELOVEYOUAMANDAYOUAREAWESOME!!!" when she doesn't quite seem to be the true American Idol. I'm not really a fan of David's either, but his performances the past two weeks have been phenomenal. And anyone who sings a Phil Collins song that is not "Against All Odds" gets props in my book.

AND. On a related note to that whole Phil Collins thing, I was all OMG! when I found out it was 80's week, because I knew someone was going to do "Love Is A Battlefield" and "Against All Odds", because those songs always somehow get sung on the show. GUESS WHAT. THEY WERE! by Brooke and Ramiele (another one of my favorites)! And yes, I voted for both.

The group performances, however, are lacking something that the last two season have had an abundance of. The restriction of a theme, perphaps?

One of my favorite episodes of The Office is on tonight (Money!!) as well as New Amsterdam, which was as expected, but I guess I'll keep watching. I need something to last me until April.
mydarling: (studiosixty / network president)
Well, there goes my inside joke. THANKS A LOT, SPANISH. YOU HAVE FAILED ME YET AGAIN.

-

I really need to stop posting entries only on Wednesdays. Seriously, I'm on the computer everyday, and SOMETHING worthy of posting happens everyday, even if it is just spam. Why do I just wait until Wednesday to make huge posts? REALLY, NOT NECESSARY.

-

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000. You're never going to be finished, are you? Definitely not. Even though I've gotten back into writing things (brain is starting to work again, thanks to the strike being over), I just can't do it. I need more episodes of The Office!

-

NCIS!! Why are you so addictive and wonderful? Why do you have to keep me away from doing my AP Spanish homework? WHY?

-

Here's to hoping Girl's Night of American Idol goes a lot better than last night!
mydarling: (office / paper doll)
I'm pretty much grounded from the computer (grades are bad, senioritis has taken effect!), and I don't know when I'll be back for real, but I just would like to say:

1) THE STRIKE IS OVER. I GET THE OFFICE BACK IN MARCH. And everything else back in April/May. YAY!

2) SNL returns NEXT FRIDAY! Oh, how I have missed their irreverent commentary.

3) Dexter is rated TV-MA, so that's a definite NO. But there's American Idol! And Lipstick Jungle! (KIMBY, I'VE MISSED YOU!) And possibly New Amsterdam! (Shut up, I've been watching lots of FOX lately and the promos look really good.)
mydarling: (criminalminds / poker face)
I seem to have caught whatever is going around at the worst possible time.

BUT. This is quite possibly the best American Idol audition EVER.

how about brothers and sisters forever? )

My favorite class this semester? Most definitely College Writing. The teacher is totally awesome, and we get off-topic so often. We've even talked about The Office and 30 Rock! And I end up laughing so hard that I forget that I'm supposed to freak out about the class, because it consists of constant writing.

my least favorite class this semester, is not AP Spanish (that's actually pretty fun; we're reading Don Quijote, getting vocab on travel and tourism, and talking in fractured Spanish), but Pre-Calc. I hate that we've jumped right back into it, and that I got in trouble for "cheating" on my homework because I copied the answers out of the back of the book instead of doing it the way the teacher wanted it. And I have an A in the class, but I'm sure that will change soon. I've got this huge quiz on Friday, which I'm pretty sure I won't so well on. Math and I are not friends.

Office Assistant has become sort of boring. I have it during lunch, so there's really nothing to do. Although I do get to collect attendance!

-

I'm listening to Katharine McPhee in order to prepare for the awesomeness of American Idol. I'm really hoping that it's better than last year. Now that 24 is gone, American Idol is the only hope I've got for FOX. (TURN IT OFF? I THINK NOT.)

-

The Michigan Primary is a joke.

I miss The Office and 24 so, so much.
mydarling: (miss independent)
I rarely watch CSI:NY anymore, but I did watch the season finale, and it was so very excellent. I can not wait for next season.

However, I didn't watch the Criminal Minds season finale. It turned out that the episode was a conclusion to a two-parter to an episode earlier in the season, and I never saw it. So. Plus, the last few episodes have freaked me out. I don't like that. I'll just pick it up next season, I guess.

My week of Really Important Season Finales starts tonight. I'm so excited.
mydarling: (agent warner)
I'm in Georgia right now. It's cold, and I'm tired and bored.

I really have nothing to say except that I'm alive, I hated last night's Numb3rs, I missed [livejournal.com profile] wistful_memory's birthday (I'm really sorry), am freaking out about this week's The Office (no spoilers, PLZ!), and I'm afraid that I may miss American Idol this week because I'll be on my way to DC by then.

But I did get some good news: Kimby's been spotted on the set of 24 and is set to come back around 1 AM (episode 20)! *crosses fingers*

mydarling: (who's the boss?)
I got the Maroon 5 CD from the library yesterday, and I'm obessed with it. Got even more excited when I found out that Rashida Jones (Karen from The Office) did the background vocals on some of the songs. Which is pretty cool. I ♥ her.

-

American Idol: My God, was Gwen Stefani harsh. Especially on the contestants that sang No Doubt songs. However, it was pretty good. Phil's version of "Every Breath You Take"? Sounded exactly like the original. I still can't get the image of Sanjaya's hair out of my head. Dad end up voting nearly 20 times for him, just to cancel out the 25 votes I gave (granted, they were for five different people, but he didn't seem to care). He went crazy when he found out Sanjaya was safe, which pissed me off. Although Gwen brought her girls along, which kinda made my night. Dad: "It's SO much better than Diana Ross!"

Still, I had to sit through this week's episode of House, which weirded me out, excited me, and made me feel like I was watching the S2 finale ALL AT THE SAME TIME. (Although I am excited that there's 8 episodes in a row, no repeats. Will give me something to look forward to on Tuesdays, especially since I've lost all hope in American Idol.)

-

HOW THE HELL does James Morrison not win as TV's sexiest boss? (Although Dennis Haysbert won, but he's on The Unit now. Does it still count as a win for 24 if he's not on the show anymore? I THINK SO.)
mydarling: (miss independent)
Lookit me, I'm talking about American Idol. Pardon my incoherency.

america, this is you top twelve. again. )

I finally finished my research paper a little less than a half-hour ago. While I'm excited that it's done, I wish I never had to do it in the first place. Too much work, you know? Plus, I'm missing American Idol to do it.

So earlier today Mommy&Monica&I went shopping. Bought a very shiny 24 photo book at Borders, a hoodie and a new purse at Old Navy, and a thumb drive (affectionately named Morris) and headphones from Circuit City. There were some things I wanted to buy but couldn't due to the lack of money, namely a new wallet and the first season of Criminal Minds. And Starbucks. Mmm, Starbucks.

Prison Break was meh, but 24 and Studio 60 were both excellent, as usual. I'm way too tired to share my thoughts (plus the library is closing at 9), so they'll come later. But until then, I'll give you this:

[Error: unknown template video]

It's Law & Order: Special Letters Unit, a parody of SVU they did on Sesame Street a while ago. I dare you not to laugh.

Before I get to the fandom stuff, I'd like to say that I have FINALLY gotten the books, article and internet site I need for my research paper, so they will be looked over tonight for information and the paper-writing will hopefully start tomorrow. If all goes well, the paper should be done by Monday at the latest *crosses fingers*.

I also spent part of yesterday afternoon writing more of my [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000 fic, and am in the process of typing it up to see how much more I need to write.
-

I have to give a big WTFseriously? to the people at American Idol. Um, to put Antonellla in the Top 24 was pretty stupid, but then to put Sundance instead of Tommy (who was a much better singer anyway) in there? That's low. Anyways, am excited for the majority of the contestants picked, and am even more excited about the guys chosen. I have a feeling that a guy's going to win this season. Will wait and see.

-

House made me feel akward again this week, and it was just the scene near the end with Chase&Cameron that got me irked. I think that the fact that they're engaged in real life (but not on the show), takes away from any scene where it's just the two of them. Loved the case as well - made me feel like I was watching Heroes, with the insensitivity to pain and the jumping off the balcony and whatnot.

-

I'm feeling a bit "meh" about this season of 24. The premiere was phenomonal (as usual), but now that we're nearly halfway through the season, it's getting a bit boring. I did love this weeks' episodes, and was extremely glad that it was a 2-hour palooza instead of one. LOVED Morris&Chloe, and of course the very end with Milo driving the van badly. I have a theory that technical analysts shouldn't drive vans (see Chloe, episode 5X02). And is Tom trying to pull a season 2 with removing the president? I was confused on that. Will have to wait until next week to see.

-

Studio 60 kinda freaked me out this week. I loved the flashback episodes that were done on West Wing (see In The Shadow of Two Gunmen Parts 1&2), but this one I hated. I can't really explain why. I am, however, excited for Monday, seeing as the preview was hilarious.

-

And finally, PEYTON! I missed her.
