now's the time to be alive.
Nov. 6th, 2008 03:11 pmJust because the election season is FINALLY over with the election of Obama does not mean that I've stopped talking about politics. In fact, I'm probably talking about it more now that I'm incredibly happy with the outcome. (LOOKIT ME, I'M TURNING INTO A POLITICAL JUNKIE. And I totally plan on working in politics if this whole working-in-television thing doesn't work out. SERIOUSLY.)
SO. Now I'm obsessing over who Obama's picking for his White House staff (the "Senior Staff" if you will.) Rahm Emanuel is Obama's chief of staff. Defamer came up with 20 reasons why he's so awesome, and this one is my favorite:
Because if it wasn't totally evident that Season 7 of The West Wing directly parallels this election, it is now. I really need to get the DVDs from the library again and be all "OMG THIS IS ACTUALLY REAL AND NOT JUST SOMETHING DREAMED UP BY A TELEVISION GENIUS." I attempted to watch "Election Day" online on Tuesday, but I couldn't find it :( Honestly, I just need to re-watch this series. I haven't seen it in so so long. Maybe I'll watch the reruns on Bravo tomorrow morning; they're showing "Institutional Memory" (one of my personal favorites) and "Tomorrow" (the series finale)!
I attempted to get the newest issue of Time Magazine (the special collectors edition with Obama on the cover) today, but neither Target or Costco had it. I'm pretty sure it's out now, so I'm hoping to get to Barnes&Noble or Borders this weekend to buy it.
This weekend and next week are going to super stressful school-wise. I have 5 sections of Stats homework and Astronomy review questions due Monday, A speech on Tuesday that I haven't even started preparing, an Astronomy exam on Wednesday that I really need to study for, and a Government exam next Thursday that I might not do as well as I hope to on because I skipped a lot of classes. I don't know when I'm going to get all of this done; I'm babysitting tomorrow night, and I'd really like to go to the gym sometime this weekend because I haven't been in awhile. It's the big thing that's stressing me out now that the election is over. But if I can make it to next Friday without killing myself, I think I'll be okay.

4. Rahm is the inspiration for Bradley Whitford's character Josh Lyman on The West Wing.
