four minutes to save the world.
Jun. 22nd, 2008 09:02 pmAfter two 12-hour drives and a week filled with chaos, hurt feelings, bitching, rain, hamburgers, laughter, family, thrift store shopping, The Office and of course, BASEBALL, I'm home, and glad to be away from all that craziness.
Seriously, I love my mom's family, but with 27 grandchildren and 16 adults crowded into a tiny lake house in Western Iowa&South Omaha, Nebraska, with a majority of the kids under the age of 10, it gets to be too much. It's hard to keep track of everyone and fights almost always break out (In fact, there were several during the week.) Because of all this, Mommy doesn't want to go back next year; at least, not during the CWS. I'm totally fine with it; I keep in touch with my older cousins via Facebook, and I doubt many of the younger cousins actually know my name and/or remember me, so it works. Plus, I may be working at Camp all next summer, so no vacations. *sadface*
On the upside of this trip, my cousin got into Notre Dame, I had some excellent Qdoba, and I got to see Get Smart! (I didn't really like it, but hey, Agent Michael Scarn!)
I'm sick of coming to Omaha; it's about time the fambly came to visit us in Michigan! We have plenty of room at my house and my aunt&uncle's house in Ann Arbor. And there's lots of fun things to do here!

Dad and I had a wonderfully engaging discussion today after watching The Pixar Story, a docmentary on the famous animation studio. Basically, we came to the conclusion that Pixar movies are great because a) they bring inanimate objects to live in an amazing way, and b) they have messages that are greater than the movie itself. Also: Bee Movie is stupid.

I'm working at Vacation Bible School again this year, and while I'm excited for it, I'm extremely nervous. I was out of town last week, so I missed the meeting, and I don't have any of the stuff I need. I've done this for the past few years, so it's not new. I just don't like being unprepared.

Off to shower, then watch Leatherheads. Good night.
