Well. I'm back from Chicago. My dad, sister and I left Thursday after I got home from school (my sister had that whole week off) and headed out to the Windy City. It's about a four hour drive from my house to downtown Chicago. We kinda got off to a late start, and there was A LOT of traffic. My dad kept saying that he never wanted to live in Chicago because of the traffic.
On Friday, we got up, went to Denny's for breakfast, then headed to Chicago. We went to the American Girl store (for my sister), then walked over to the John Hancock building for the view. It was amazing! I took a lot of pictures, which I will hopefully post soon. There is a Cheesecake Factory there, and we went there for lunch (actually, it was more like a brunch, because all we had was cheesecake.) Then we headed back to the hotel for a little while, then headed over to my aunt and uncle's house in Lake Forest (about 45 min away from the hotel), and had pizza with them and my younger cousins which I haven't seen in over a year. They were running around and screaming. They were so cute! Then we went back to the hotel because I was REALLY TIRED! I didn't sleep well though. My sister kept snoring and it was LOUD.
Then on Saturday, we got up, ate bagels in our hotel room, and then left to go to IKEA. My dad bought a bed frame and nightstand for me, and a daybed and regular bed frame for my sister. I bought a briefcase/messanger bag for myself. We had lunch there, and it was good. Very yummy. We almost didn't fit everything in the car, but my dad made it work. We left IKEA, then headed back to the hotel to pack up and then we left. We were going to stay until tonight, but left yesterday because Chicago was suppossed to get 3-5 inches of snow and my dad didn't want to drive back to Michigan in it. We got back home around 10:30 last night, and I went straight to bed after that. I was quite tired.
I'm still mad at the Law and Order writers. They badly wrote off Serena, and then repalced her with a new ADA that looks JUST LIKE ABBIE. I am not kidding. I almost thought that was her, but then she got shot down in her request for bail (she wanted remand, she got 5 million). Plus, this episode of L and O was loosely based on the wonderful Palace Brawl that happened in Detriot a few months ago. The L and O writers made the Brawl look just peachy (a slap on the wrist, as they often say), while the real Brawl shook up our city and gave it a bad name. These guys just suck.
But what does not suck is the relationship between Martin and Samantha on Without a Trace. Yes, I am Martin/Sam now. But I still love Danny.
