all this time, waiting for it

Note to self: the peach rings were a bad idea. The first few were enjoyable, but having to eat the entire package? Not so much. They were almost too sugary, made even worse by the ice water I drank. We will totally be making peach Jello next time.
ANYWAY. I was right:
CHARLIE AND AMITA ARE GETTING MARRIED!
Which is a surprise to absolutely no one, because a) I made a very strong argument during the finale that it was going to happen; b) the proposal was mentioned in the promo for the season premiere; and c) the actress who plays Amita outright said that not only would they be getting married, but it would quite possibly happen on-screen at the end of this season. (BTW, that bit of news was great to find out, as I discovered in on the same day that Ted Kennedy died and I moved into my dorm/apartment at college. YES.)
The only thing I was worried about with the whole proposal scene is how it would be approached - would the opening scene be a continuation of the end of the finale, or would the season start fresh? Obviously, the episode took the latter route - which is why I spent the majority of the episode freaking out that Amita either said no (in which case, I had been lied to at a rate which is way beyond acceptable) or said she'd think about it (in this scenario, I would've been anxiously waiting for the end of the episode for her answer.) But of course they got creative, saying Amita had said yes (and I am slightly disappointed we didn't get to see that scene, to be honest), but they hadn't told anyone yet because Charlie needed to get Amita's parents' permission and couldn't for four days. Though I did love how Charlie was trying to get everyone to get him to spill the beans while still remaining elusive: "Don't you want to know what's going on between me and Amita?" "No." (Because they already know, since Amita's parents told Alan and Alan told Don! SEE, SURPRISE TO NO ONE.)
ALSO. Don called Amita "sister-in-law" at the end and it totally cemented the idea that they're this little fambly now. (And if Robin were to be in the picture more this season, that would be nice as well.)
And there were other things in this episode besides Charlie and Amita, really! Like Depressed!Larry and his need for a hug; Liz has prettier hair this season (which I didn't even think was possible, but there you go), while Don and Charlie's hair are nearly identical (PLEASE OH PLEASE, DO NOT LET DON'S HAIR BE LIKE THAT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON, I DON'T CARE IF HE'S "SLOWING DOWN".); and Alan is still the awesomest TV Dad ever, but that is a total given.
Basically, I'm just thrilled Numb3rs is finally back, and this season is looking like it'll be pretty good :)
I realize I have been more invested in Numb3rs than in The Office as of late, and I'm sorry. I'm just as excited as the rest of you, I promise.
